Srinagar, Sept 10 (KNS): Lal Chowk MLA Ahsan Pardesi on Thursday reviewed the ongoing construction of Overhead Water Tanks (OHTs) at Batmaloo and Jawahar Nagar and directed officials to ensure timely completion of the projects.

Pardesi was accompanied by senior officials of the Jal Shakti Department, including the Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer and other concerned officers.

During the visit, the MLA inspected the ongoing works at both locations and took stock of the physical progress of the projects. The officials briefed him about the status of construction, work completed so far and the remaining components.

Pardesi expressed satisfaction over the pace of execution and directed the officials to maintain the momentum while ensuring that the prescribed quality standards are adhered to.

He said the completion and commissioning of the OHTs would strengthen the drinking water distribution network in Batmaloo, Jawahar Nagar and adjoining areas by enhancing storage and distribution capacity.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The projects are also expected to improve water pressure and help ensure more equitable distribution of drinking water, particularly for households located at the tail ends of the supply network, he said.

Pardesi said reliable drinking water supply was a basic necessity and remained among his key developmental priorities for the Lal Chowk constituency.

He also called for completion of the projects within the stipulated timeframe so that the benefits reach residents at the earliest.

The MLA appreciated the efforts of the Jal Shakti Department and expressed hope that both projects would be completed and made functional soon.(KNS)
