BRO cleared snow on Bandipora-Gurez road, one way traffic allowed from tomorrow

Bandipora, Nov 10 (KNS):  Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in northern Kashmir's Bandipora district have cleared snow on 85 KM long Bandipora Gurez road four days after it was closed due to snowfall.
 
A BRO offical told the Kashmir News Service (KNS), that due to multiple snow avalanches and uprooted of several trees and adverse weather conditions causes difficult on snow clearence on the road, however today snow cutters reached the toughest patch of Razdan pass at an elevation of nearly 12,000 feet and cleared snow on the road.

He said that Junior enginer Kushal along with two oprator Khursheed Ahmad and Manjeet cleared multiple snow avalanche and fallen trees on the road.

Meanwhile, the locals have hails efforts of BRO to reopen Gurez Bandipora road early as it is the only road link connecting it to the rest of the Valley.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora,  Dr Owais Ahmad said that there has been an exemplary liaison between the BRO and civil administration during adverse weather conditions that helped to open the road again in record time.

BRO Officers said clearing of the road was not expected in such a short time in the wake of regular and heavy snowfall. "However, collected and concerted efforts at the hands of civil administration led to the breakthrough," they said.

SDM Gurez Dr Mudasir Ahmad said that their will one way traffic on Gurez Bandipora road, he furthe added that traffic shall played from Gurez to Bandipora from tomorrow (KNS)
