Srinagar, Nov 03 (KNS): With the conclusion of B2V4, the Govt. of J&K on Thursday said 15 to 20 lac people participated in the program while as more than 25 thousand officers visited every panchayat across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.


Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) , Principal Secretary Higher Education and Information, Rohit Kansal said the B2V4 which was kick started on October 27 has been culminated on November 3 with 15 to 20 lac citizens of J&K UT participated during this weeklong program while as more than 25 thousand officers of J&K administration took part in the event and visited every panchayat and village.

Kansal said the visiting officers during B2V4 met large number of people across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and got first hand information of their genuine grievances. 
He said prior to B2V4, the J&K government conducted one-and-a-half week long Jan Abhiyan Program. 
" B2V4 program was warmly welcomed by citizens of J&K across all panchayats and villages," he said.

Kansal also added that the government had fixed targets for B2V4 to make result oriented which include saturation of individual beneficiary schemes, youth skill and self-employment.

"On the recommendations of B2V, the J&K government ensured the completion of 4190 works during last 1.5 years in different panchayats across J&K.
 In this regard the Finance department provided adequate funds while as Rural Development department prepared plan for execution of schemes", Kansal said. 

He added there can be lot of grievances in every panchayat however every issue cannot be addressed in one go.

Kansal said that individual beneficiary schemes like old age pension scheme, widow pension scheme, marriage assistance scheme, Ayushman Bharat scheme etc have seen huge increase during last 1.5 years.

 "Earlier the government had surveyed in every panchayat and village that how many beneficiaries are there. Accordingly these were addressed in today's concluded B2V4 program which is a big achievement for the government", Kansal spoke to KNS.

He added during B2V4 the government dedicated two officers to every panchayat which was an important decision of the UT government to address demands and grievances of the local population. 

"The B2V4 is not over here. It shall continue further as the visiting officers have been tasked as 'panchayat mentor' who will be responsible to listen the future grievances and address them accordingly. Further these panchayat mentors will play the role of leaders in panchayats as they have been directed to visit these places within two months further to address pending grievances of citizens", Kansal added.

While satisfying the overall conduct of B2V4, Kansal said the aim of the program was to bring government at the doorsteps of people across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
