Authorities order two separate enquiries into collapse of auditorium of GDC (Boys) Anantnag, ADC Ang to head one enquiry, 15 days time given to submit report

Anantnag, Jan 09 (KNS): District administration Anantnag took strong notice of collapsing of auditorium building at Govt. Degree College (Boys) Anantnag and ordered two separate and directed enquiry teams to submit the fact finding report within a time period of 15 days.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag’s office who ordered a separate enquiry into the incident has directed ADC Anantnag to visit the spot to ascertain the facts on ground and submit a detailed report within 15 days.
“In order to find out the cause of damage to the auditorium building at Government Degree College (Boys) Anantnag, a team of officers including Executive Engineer, R&B Division Anantnag; Executive Engineer, PMGSY Anantnag and Representative of Principal Government Degree College Anantnag headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag”.
As per order, the team shall visit the spot to ascertain the facts on ground peruse the records and seek assistance of experts, if necessary.
The team shall submit report within 15 days for further course of action, order reads.
Meanwhile Office of the Chief Engineer, PW (R&B) Department Kashmir has ordered separate enquiry into the matter.
“An enquiry committee is hereby constituted headed by Superintending Engineer (R&B) Circle Anantnag – Kulgam with members including (1) Executive Engineer (R&B) Div Khanabal and Technical officer to Superintending Engineer (R&B) Circle Anantnag – Kulgam, to conduct a thorough enquiry regarding collapsing of roof top of auditorium building at Govt. Degree College (Boys) Anantnag”, order reads.
It added that the enquiry committee shall ascertain the facts/circumstances due to which the damages occurred, and added that the EC shall also pinpoint the deficiencies / reasons behind the accident and fix the responsibility of negligence, if any, of the officers/officials and contractor.
The committee shall furnish the enquiry report within a period of ten days”, order reads.
Notably KNS on Jan, 08 reported that the auditorium of GDG (Boys) Anantnag collapsed after its rooftop fell down amid little weight of snow.
The work on the said auditorium was started in year 2005 and was completed in 2018 due to intermittent tasks. According to official data available at KNS, during its construction period, seven Executive Engineers and four Assistant Executive Engineers had either been retired or transferred to some else location. The estimated cost of the said auditorium according to official data was 6 crore rupees. 
Meanwhile Civil Society Anantnag on Saturday urged upon authorities to initiate a transparent enquiry into the incident and bring facts into public domain without any delay. They appealed the concern Deputy Commissioner to nail the involved persons without coming into influence and uphold the confidence of common masses upon administration. (KNS)
