Army organises Jehlum Tiranga Rally in Sopore

Baramulla, Aug 11 (KNS) : As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav’ to encourage people to host the National Flag at home and mark the 75th year of India's Independence, Indian army's 52 Rashtriya Rifles on Thursday organized 'Jehlum Tiranga Rally' in North Kashmir's Sopore village of Baramulla district. 

The boat rally starts from the Ningli Ghat and culminated at Hatishah area. Around 15 boats moved with fishermen from Haritar, Ningli Bala and Ghat villages holding Indian flags in their hands, promoting the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign uniquely. 

While talking with the news agency - Kashmir News Service (KNS), Ghulam Mohammad, a fishermen said, that the Jhelum is home to the fishermen community of Kashmir and that’s why we are celebrating the Tiranga campaign in river Jhelum. 

“The Tiranga boat rally is a message to the local youth to shun terrorism and be part of the nation-building process and promote awareness about the Indian National Flag,” he said. 

Likewise other parts of the country, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign - under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is being carried out across the nation so that the tricolour is hoisted at every house and office to mark India’s 75th year of Independence.(KNS)
