Srinagar October 23 (KNS): : The Jammu and National Conference senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather on Sunday denounced a news report in a section of the press alleging that a criminal case has been lodged against him.  

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Taking strong exception to the news report, Rather said that he was not undergoing any trial. He said that no case has been lodged against him during the breadth of his 45 years long political and public life. 

Rejecting the allegation, he said that it was incumbent upon the government to clarify as to who they are referring to as Abdul Rahim Rather in the news report. It is also imperative upon the government to clear the air on this matter as the allegations have created misgivings and confusion among the general public.(KNS)
