Jammu, Sept 26 (KNS): Apni party President Altaf Bukhari on Sunday said that the Apni party will always stand up for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per Kashmir News Service (KNS) Jammu correspondent, addressing the media in Jammu, Bukhari took strong exception against the remarks made by Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha about the bi-annual ‘Darbar move’ of shifting capitals from Srinagar to Jammu and vice-versa.

He said Darbar move is not only an official process but also a connection of culture and emotions between the Jammu and the Kashmir regions and it can’t be ceased arbitrarily.

Bukhari said that development, dignity and peace will be election manifesto of Apni Party.

He said that both Jammu and Kashmir are equal in every respect and Apni party will also fight for the rights of the people of Jammu.

He assured the people of J&K that his party will always fight for the restoration of statehood of J&K.

Expressing disappointment over the statehood issue, he stressed upon the need for restoring a popular government in J&K as soon as possible.

Bukhari also said that the opening of Jio marts in Jammu will create a burden for the business community of Jammu. “Jammu has been a trade hub from generations and any change in the business community will lead to drastic results.”

He said that the Apni party is for the welfare of the people of J&K and thur will always be committed to the goal of serving the people.

About Jammu bandh call by traders federation of Jammu, Bukhari appealed to the traders federation of Jammu to protest peacefully for their rights and not to resort to any violence.

“Apni party’s agenda has always been the restoration of statehood, development, dignity, and peace of J&K,” he said. (KNS)
