Bandipora, Jan 08 (KNS): The medical superintendent of district hospital bandiporal saved a pregnant lady and her child’s life by arranging aneasthia for the operation on his own responsilbility.
As per Kashmir News Service (KNS), Dilshada wife of Imtiyaz Ahmad from Chichinaar Aaloosa suffered labour pain in the midnight amid the heavy snowfall. The lady after admitted to hospital successfully delivered a male child.
Talking to KNS, Husband of Dilshada, Imtiyaz Ahmad said that his wife suffered labour pain at about 2 am in the night. Due to snowfall there was no vehicle available in the village and after that we contacted the hospital for an ambulance at 3AM.
The hospital authorities closely monitored my location and provided Ambulance. After reaching the district hospital, the doctors attended my wife and the gynaecologist said that her condition is unstable so she has to reach Srinagar for treatment.
I requested the doctors that due to snowfall it would be difficult for me to reach Srinagar along with her as her condition is not stable. The doctors agreed and started the emergency operation. But at that time the anesthesia was not available in the hospital as it were late night hours, Imtiyaz said.
He added that the Medical Superintendent of the hospital took the responsibility on his own and arranged anaesthia for my wife.
"I am grateful to the team of district hospital who took their responsibility seriously and arranged an ambulance for us. I am thankful to medical superintendent who joined the team of surgeons and arranged anesthesia for my wife’s operation which saved the life of both mother and child,", he added.
Recently there were many incidents where pregnant ladies in far flung areas were carried on horse or JCB’s due to absence of ambulance facility by the health departmemt amid snowfall. but in this case,the efforts and close monitoring by the medical team of District hospital Bandipora are beyond appreciation.
A pregnant woman who suffered labour pain in the midnight amid heavy snowfall was shifted to hospital and later all the necessities required for her safe delivery were carried out saving the life of both mother and child. (KNS)
