AFSPA removal in J&K conditional to complete return of peace: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh

 Jammu, June 26 (KNS): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is conditional to complete return of peace in the region.

"AFSPA will be removed from the Union Territory of J&K once complete peace returns in the region," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as per KNS said while addressing Security Conclave at Zorawar Stadium in Jammu. Singh earlier in the morning arrived at Jammu Airport and was recieved by top dignitaries of Civil and Police administration.

"The GoI has controlled the problem of insurgency in North East India. We have also been successful in controlling left wing extremism. Today AFSPA has been removed from large parts of North East. I am waiting for the day when permanent peace will return in Jammu and Kashmir and AFSPA will be removed from here too," Singh maintained. (KNS)
