Admission in Presentation Convent School: Court asks DSEK to implement its order

Srinagar, Oct 28 (KNS): The Court of Sub-Judge Srinagar has asked the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) to enforce its orders regarding granting of admission to a student in class UKG who was denied admission last year in class LKG by the Presentation Convent School Rajbagh in Srinagar. 

As per details, father of the student whose elder daughter is already studying in the same school had gone to court to seek judicial intervention as the school had denied admission even after fulfilling all the criteria for admission process.

Meanwhile, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Srinagar in its order had castigated the presentation convent school authorities for denying the admission to one Zainab Riyaz daughter of Dr Riyaz Ahmad Daga of Qamarwari area of Srinagar. 

The CJM court in its order had directed the Presentation Convent School Srinagar to grant provisional admission to Zainab Riyaz in class UKG. “The school authorities as per father of Zainab did not implement the court orders.” 

Now the Court of Sub-Judge Srinagar has directed the DSEK to implement its order, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), in letter and spirit. 

The order, issued on October 27 by Sub Judge Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Bhat, has directed the DSEK to implement the court order dated 11.10.2021 wherein the Court of Sub Judicial Magistrate (CJM ) Srinagar had directed Presentation Convent School to grant admission to Zainab Riyaz.

“I am of the considered opinion that the instant case is one in which implementation of the court order dated 11.10.2021 has to be carried out by the Director school education Kashmir , Srinagar. Therefore the director school education Kashmir Srinagar is directed to implement the court order dated 11.10.2021 in letter and spirit and report compliance on next date of hearing,” reads the order.

Meanwhile, Dr Riyaz Daga told KNS that hehas submitted the court orders before the Director School Education Kashmir and he is hopeful that justice will be done soon. (KNS)
