ECI has become puppet of BJP government: Harsh Dev Singh

Jammu, Nov 25 (KNS): Aam Admi Party (AAP) on Friday protested against the Election Commission of India for not holding assembly elections in J&K.

The protest demonstration which was led by AAP senior leader Harsh Dev Singh alleged ECI of being a “puppet” of BJP government, saying “The BJP government is inventing one excuse after another to deny people their democratic rights.
'
Singh as per KNS reporter said the BJP want to continue its proxy rule in Jammu and Kashmir while avoiding to hold assembly polls in the region and providing a chance to people to elect their own government.

“The BJP is impeding the conduct of elections in J&K. Unfortunately ECI has become it’s puppet which has submitted its authority before the saffron party”, the AAP leader said.

He said BJP has lost its credibility in J&K and it is why elections are not being conducted despite they were due years before. “The J&K legislative assembly is dissolved from last four years. The law has been shelved brazenly by BJP. Even they deny people to elect their own government which is the constitutional right of people of J&K. Further as per the directions of Supreme Court the elections should have been held within six months post dissolution of assembly”, he as per KNS said.
'
“BJP is neither respecting law, nor constitution. The directions of SC also have been shelved”, he said.

The AAP leader added that Jammu and Kashmir is currently governed by Babu’s who have no connection with people. “The people of J&K are suffering immensely for basic amenities. They want to seek resolution of their grievances but Babu culture has ruined the institutional structure of J&K”, Singh added.

“While no initiative has been taken to establish a popular government in J&K, the administration seems to have been outsourced to bureaucrats, mostly from outside J&K who have no contact with masses”, he also added. (KNS)
