Er Ashok Dhar Donates ₹2 Lakh for Gold Medal in Chemical Engineering at NIT Srinagar

Srinagar, Sept 11 (KNS): An eminent alumnus of NIT Srinagar, Er Ashok Dhar, has donated ?2 lakh to institute a gold medal in Chemical Engineering.

The award, titled “Ashok Dhar Gold Medal”, will be presented every year to the topper in Chemical Engineering on Alumni Day. This is the first time in the institute’s history, since its establishment in 1960, that such an award has been instituted.

Born and raised in Srinagar, Er Dhar has held leadership positions in three Fortune 500 companies and worked in India and abroad in petroleum, energy trading, and strategic management. He has also spoken at major international energy conferences across the world.

The NIT fraternity has hailed his contribution, calling it a proud moment for the institute and a beacon for future alumni.
