Mehbooba Mufti Chairs High Level PDP Strategy Meeting in Srinagar, Reaffirms Ideological Stand

Srinagar, Sept 11 (KNS) People's Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday chaired a high-level strategy meeting of senior party leaders from Srinagar district to deliberate on key organizational and political challenges facing the party in the current climate.

The closed-door meeting, held at the party's Srinagar office, was attended by prominent district-level leaders and office-bearers. It was convened with the primary objective of strengthening the PDP's grassroots presence, restructuring its organizational setup, and setting out clear policy directions for the coming months.

According to party sources, discussions revolved around three broad themes organizational restructuring, cadre mobilization, and issue-based engagement with the public. The leadership reportedly emphasized the need to re-energize the party at the ground level by involving youth, strengthening local committees, and reestablishing direct contact with the people.

She strongly criticized both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Conference (NC), accusing the latter of ´´submitting to the BJP's narrative”at the cost of the region's identity.

“The PDP remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard the rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mehbooba said. “Through principled opposition and constructive engagement, we will continue to resist divisive ideologies and hold accountable those who compromise the region's dignity and identity.”
