‎‎Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNS): National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday backed the culture of debate in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, saying members should be free to raise questions and the government should respond to them in the interest of the people.

‎Speaking to reporters after attending the sixth day of the ongoing Assembly session, Abdullah said healthy discussion in the legislature was important and expressed hope that such debates would continue.

‎He said the purpose of discussions in the Assembly and Parliament should be to address issues concerning people and find ways to improve their lives.

‎“It is for Assembly and Parliament discussion. May Allah make it so that people keep discussing and make it better for people,” he said.

‎Abdullah attended the Assembly on the sixth day of its ongoing sixth session. The session is scheduled from September 21 to September 30. (KNS)
