Will not give up till aim of Gupkar Declaration is achieved: Khalida Shah

Srinagar, Sept 14 (KNS): Awami National Conference (ANC) President Begum Khalida Shah Monday asserted that people of Jammu and Kashmir will not give up till aim of Gupkar Declaration is not achieved. While taking a dig at BJP, she said Article 370 and 35(A) that granted special status to erstwhile state of J&K, was always an eyesore for the party. ANC President Begum Khalida Shah chairs gathering of ANC Kashmir Province Working Committee session 1 year after Abrogation of Article 370 in Srinagar today.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, ANC President while addressing media persons at her residence at MA Road Srinagar here, she said Article 370 is a fundamental right of people of Jammu and Kashmir which was granted to them by the tallest Indian leaders including Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. She said the whole world came to know how this special right was snatched from Kashmiris in just one night and one stroke.
This step has not only affected people of Jammu and Kashmir but the whole India as well, which is evident from the fact that how China has reacted to it, she said, adding that China is now encroaching our territory in Ladakh while claiming that it is Chinese territory.
She said, this all situation has come about because of the intransigence of the ruling dispensation BJP which has unlawfully scrapped the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
ANC President said, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir are disappointed with the Center's decision and have resolved to fight this illegal decision till it is revoked and Jammu and Kashmir is restored to its position which it enjoyed before 5th August 2019”.
“Gupkar declaration is the common sentiment of the people of the state and it is only some paid agents which are on the side of the Central government”, she added.
Khalida Shah said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are together in this endeavor and we will not give up till the goal is achieved. (KNS)
