Calls it height of insensitivity

Srinagar 31 May (KNS) : Senior Vice President Peoples Conference and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil on Sunday have expressed concern over the pitiable condition of old aged ,handicapped & widows who are deprived of their pension in the Valley especially in North Kashmir for the last more than 6 months. Simply for the fault their accounts are in Grameen Bank. Poor people are crying but govt is giving deaf ear to them. Most of them are living pension alone & are worst sufferers during Covid 19 lockdown.

According to a press release issued to KNS Vakil said it was disheartening to know that thousands of widows and handicapped people have been left without their monthly pension.

"These needy people are getting a meager amount of money to meet their basic needs including health care and how cruel the administration can be by holding this money to such people who are already troubled in life,"Vakil said.

This is height of being inhumane, Vakil said.

"I got hundreds of calls from such people saying that those people who have accounts in Grameen Bank have not been released the pension. The govt should fix the errors in system instead of letting these hopeless people suffer," Vakil added.

Vakil urged administration lead by Lt Governor to release their pension forthwith so that they can't die for starvation & want of medical care (KNS)
