Traders,Transport joint co ordination committee and JKEC met DC Srinagar

Srinagar, June 10 (KNS): A delegation of All Traders and Transport Joint Coordination Committee and JKEC led by Chairman Abrar Khan along with President Peer Imtiyaz ul Hassan and apex leadership from trade and transport met Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Coudhary regarding relaxation of restrictions on trade and transport. Prominent social activist Inam Un Nabi  was also part of the delegation from the civil society.
According to statement issued to KNS, spokesman of ATTJCC & JKEC said that an elaborate discussion was held and it was agreed that the unlocking cannot be in haphazard manner and has to be done in phases after due deliberation. The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar impressed upon the delegates to take every possible measure for the protection of people. The suggestion to start transport was also tabled and some decisions to the effect regarding fare, sensitization of vehicles and no. of passengers with the protection of passengers and drivers as a paramount priority was discussed. In the meeting, it was decided that a detailed action plan will be made within 2 days and if all Standing Operating Procedures are met, the probable date of starting services will be Monday. As per trade is concerned, it was discussed that it will be gradually released in subjugation to suggestions and approvals from authorities.
All Traders and Transport Joint Coordination Committee and JKEC proposed a proper training for the drivers and traders in coming days. it was further decided that no hasty decisions will be made.
Later the trade and civil society delegates appreciated the efforts of District Administration Srinagar in general and Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry in particular for their efforts in fighting the covid-19 and hailed the Dr Iqbal Choudhry for taking every measure for the safety of people.(KNS)
