Three families including 15 persons rescued from Flash Flood in Ujh River Rajbagh by Kathua Police

Jammu, Aug 26 (KNS): In view of inclement weather, incessant rain and flash flood in rivers, Kathua police has launched rescue operations in different parts of Kathua especially vulnerable points to rescue trapped persons and prevent any casualty.

According to police statement issued to KNS reads, Information received through locals to P/s Rajbagh that one person namely Kaasha s/o Abdul Karim r/o Chhabe Chak trapped in his house on the bank of river Ujh and three more families were trapped in flash flood in Ujh river.

On this Police team of P/S Rajbagh led by Insp. Bhopinder Singh SHO P/S Rajbagh with no waste of time reached on spot, starts rescue operation with the help of locals and rescued 14 persons including women and children.
The heads of the families namely 1. Mirza s/o Noordin 2. Kaka s/o Noordin 3. Bhajdin s/o Gulabdin all r/o Salalpur Tehsil Marheen thanked the Police for timely help.

Kathua Police always remains on high alert to meet any exigency due to flood. Police teams are deployed at vulnerable points. Helpline numbers are also flashed to report any flood incident to police for timely action. (KNS)
