Srinagar, Apr 14 (KNS): Amid Covid-19 outbreak across Jammu and Kashmir, authorities abandoned frontier tehsil Teetwal of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district where residents face acute ration shortage in wake of lockdown.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), locals alleged that entire tehsil of Karnah is facing acute shortage of ration in wake of complete lockdown. They said far flung areas like Morchina, Reyala , Saidpora , Dhani and Kardhama are without ration since lockdown was enforced in the district.
When KNS contacted BDC Chairperson Nishada Parveen, she admitted that there is dearth of ration supply in the entire tehsil and added the matter has already been taken up with Munshi and TSO of Food & Supplies Department who are unnecessarily pushing consumers into hardships. She alleged that the concern department is playing dilly dallying tactics while providing ration to the residents and now the matter has been brought into the notice of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah who assured that delivery of ration will be ensured without any delay.
