Srinagar Jul 20 (KNS) : In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, police have frozen a Maruti Baleno car valued at around ?4.30 lakh, allegedly purchased with proceeds from illicit drug trade in Kashmir.

The vehicle, bearing registration number JK01AL-5957, belongs to accused Owais Ahmad Bhat Son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Panzinara, Srinagar. It was seized during the investigation of FIR No. 35/2026 registered under Sections 8/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Shalteng.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

According to police, the car was acquired using money earned from drug trafficking. Acting under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, authorities have frozen the vehicle and served the freezing order on the accused as per legal procedure.

This action is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the financial networks supporting the narcotics trade in the region. Further investigation is underway.(KNS)
