Pesky power cuts left Kupwara residents into distress

Kupwara, May 13 (KNS): Residents of several villages of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Wednesday expressed strong resentment over frequent power cuts during Ramadhan.

They alleged that concern department has failed to stick on power curtailment schedule and appealed authorities to take on such officials who left consumers into distress.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), residents of Babapora Alsoosa, Malik Mohala Aloosa, Kralapora and adjoining areas alleged that Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to provide scheduled power supply to consumers during holy month of Ramadhan.

They said unscheduled power cuts have become a routine in the areas despite paying hefty electric bills regularly.

They alleged that employees deputed at Grid Station are deliberately resorting to frequent power cuts which have left the community into unending distress.

They appealed authorities to intervene and take on such officials who left consumers into unnecessary distress and pain. (KNS)
