No to suspicious recruitment drives, yes to daily wagers’ regularisation: Kadfeen

‘Govt playing with future of daily rated workers, leaving them in lurch’

Srinagar, May 31 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary has termed it extremely painful that the woeful plight of thousands of daily wagers is being unheard by the government, leaving the agonized lot in absolute distress.
In a statement issued to KNS , Kadfeen said that government must understand the gravity of the situation of leaving more than 80 thousand daily wagers in a lurch and not doing anything for regularising their services.
The Congress leader said that at a time when those at the helm claim to be offering thousands of posts to jobless youth in order to address the crises of unemployment, it is ironic that it keeps the fate the daily wagers who have been tirelessly working for decades, in limbo.
He said that already approved policy of daily wagers regularisation is in tatters and they are made to work on peanuts which is not only excruciating for their families but also inhuman to the core for these daily rated workers.
Kadfeen said that the government instead of making the suspicious recruitment drives public, should address the issue of daily wagers on priority and accord them the rights they are entitled to. “The daily wagers were promised regularisation in the past. They were made to go for adhaar enrolment in droves and now when the government should walk the talk, it is diverting the attention under the garb of suspicious recruitment drives. It is high time for the government to set its priorities right,” said Kadfeen. (KNS)
