NC pays tributes to Babasahab Dr B. R Ambedkar

Srinagar, April 14 (KNS): National Conference Provincial President Jammu Mr Devender Singh Rana today paid glowing tributes to the architect of Constitution of India Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, on his birth anniversary, saying the great legal luminary has left an indelible mark by his remarkable service to the nation and ameliorating the lot of down trodden and weaker segments of the society.

According to statement issued to KNS, “If Mahatma Gandhi is immortal as Father of the Nation, Baba Saheb Ambedkar will also be remembered as Father of Indian Democracy”, Mr Rana said in a message, adding that the great visionary ensured that the fruits of democracy reach each segment of Indian society. He said the ideology of the legendary leader is humane, which is needed to be emulated and carried forward by working towards creating a society based on equality and social justice.

Rana referred to the unflinching commitment of Babasahab towards social justice and said that his tireless contribution brought about a revolutionary transformation in Indian social order and helped in carving out a society based on equality, justice and opportunities for all.

The Provincial President said the best tribute to the great leader would be to imbibe the spirit of oneness which alone can lead the nation towards peace, progress and prosperity. He said Baba Saheb belonged to India, who lived for India and envisioned great future for India.

Recalling the struggle and contribution of Babasahab in evolution of democracy and framing up of Indian Constitution, Mr Rana said that his efforts helped hugely in creating opportunities in every sphere of activity for the poor people in general and weaker sections in particular, which made a big turnaround the politico-social landscape of India.

He urged the people to emulate the spirit of togetherness for making India a better place to live. He called for sincere and earnest efforts to pass on the message of Dr Ambedkar to posterity by upholding the principles he stood for all his life (KNS)
