Addressing thousands of mourners, Aga Syed Mujtaba described the sacrifices of the Ahlul Bayt (AS), particularly Imam Hussain (AS), as an eternal charter of justice, dignity, and resistance against oppression. He emphasised that Islam, as preached by Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), is founded upon mercy and compassion, and that Imam Hussain (AS) sacrificed everything to safeguard human dignity and Divine values.

 

Describing Muharram as a universal movement for awakening human conscience, the cleric urged the Muslim Ummah to rise above divisions and unite in defence of the oppressed (mustad'afeen) globally. He lamented the failure of global powers and international institutions in preventing the suffering of innocent people, asserting that the true measure of civilisation lies in protecting the rights of the weak rather than displaying military might.

 

Paying glowing tribute to the martyred Supreme Leader, Aga Syed Mujtaba described him as one of the greatest contemporary symbols of resistance against tyranny. He noted that the unprecedented public participation in his funeral reflected worldwide recognition of his moral leadership and courage. Remembering Imam Zain-ul-Abidin (AS), Aga Syed Mujtaba said that through unmatched patience and steadfastness, Imam Sajjad (AS) transformed the tragedy of Karbala into an everlasting movement of moral awakening.

 

In a strong condemnation, he termed the registration of FIRs, raids, and alleged harassment of mourners as unjustified, calling for respect for the democratic and religious rights of peaceful citizens.

 

Turning to the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Aga Syed Mujtaba criticised the National Conference government for moving away from its electoral commitments regarding the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A. He questioned why the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar focuses only on statehood while remaining silent on these promises, urging the government to honour all its commitments in letter and spirit.

 

Concluding his address, he appealed to mourners to uphold the ethical teachings of Imam Hussain (AS) by maintaining cleanliness after the processions, stating that protecting the environment is an integral expression of Hussaini values.
