Lockdown in Uri to be lifted in couple of days, sampling of service providers on July 21, says SDM Uri

Uri, July 20 (KNS): Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri Reyaz Ahmad Malik on Monday hinted out that authorities are mulling to lift lockdown restrictions in Uri for couple of days and said sampling of service providers of Gingal to be done on July 21.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), SDM Uri said that authorities are going to conduct sampling for Covid-19 tests of service providers of Gingal Uri town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on July 21. He said people associated with different trades have to give swab samples prior to resume their business in Gingal Uri.
“On July 21, sampling of service providers will be done after that they will be allowed to resume trade in the town”, SDM said adding, “In couple of days lockdown restrictions will be lifted on temporary basis”.
He said service providers will be allowed to resume their business on odd-even basis in order to avoid any congestion in the town.
He appealed people to wash hands regularly with sanitizer, use face masks and maintain social distance which are pre-requisite for keeping the pandemic away.
“I appeal people of Uri to abide the guidelines issued by administration for the wellbeing of community in wake of Covid-19 pandemic. Wash hands regularly with sanitizer, wear face mask and maintain social distance”, SMD Uri said.
Meanwhile SDM Uri on Monday inaugurated a communication tower of Bharti Airtel Ltd. in Dardkote area of Uri. At the occasion several officials attended the function and dedicated the tower to the local population.
“It was long pending demand of local population. As KNS brought this issue in our notice, I instantly act upon and started work. Finally today it was dedicated to people”, told. (KNS)
