Addressing a large gathering of devotees and civil society members at the function at Dak bunglow Baramulla LG Sinha as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) said the yajna in the Sanatan tradition represents selfless sacrifice and collective responsibility. "This Mahayajna marks a spiritual rebirth for the region and reflects the timeless values of coexistence and mutual respect," he said, adding that Baramulla, which served as a gateway of culture and a renowned centre of spiritual wisdom for centuries, was witnessing a revival of its glorious civilisational heritage.

 

The Lieutenant Governor underscored that Jammu and Kashmir has always been a land where all faiths are respected, and the Mahayajna was reviving spiritual traditions that gave the Union Territory a distinct identity.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelQuoting the ancient prayer 'Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu', he said India's sages envisioned a world founded on compassion and inclusiveness. "At a time when the world faces conflict, the sacred chants from Baramulla and the teachings of the Vedas and the Bhagavad Gita offer a timeless message of peace and goodwill," he said.

 

LG Sinha made a strong appeal to the younger generation to uphold the values of brotherhood, patience and selfless service, stressing that moral and spiritual strength is essential in today's rapidly changing world. He also called for environmental conservation as a spiritual obligation, recalling that Indian civilisation has always revered rivers, trees and the Earth as sacred. He further urged youth to preserve languages, literature and cultural traditions, and hoped the Sammelan would inspire them to combine modern progress with spiritual values, helping India emerge as a global leader rooted in compassion and cultural pride.
