Srinagar, June 04, (KNS): Resides of Lachipora Boniyar Uri of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday protested against apathetic behavior of PDD who left the area without electricity from last ten days.

Talking to KNS, residents said they are approaching Power Development Department (PDD) office regularly since ten days but officials deputed there are unable to address our genuine concern. They added none of the officials bothered to pay attention towards our pleas in these tough times.

Sarpanch Lachipora Mohammad Aslam Khan while talking to KNS said that the village has been abandoned by administration as residents are facing acute hardships in day to day affairs. He mocked the administration and said when it is not able to provide uninterrupted power supply in the area despite paying of huge electricity bills by consumers, how can we expect any good from authorities?

He added in wake of Covid-19 lockdown, people often used to remain indoors and were engaged in watching news and other programs but in absence of electricity, authorities are forcing residents to step out and breach lockdown guidelines.

Locals appealed district administration to address their due concern and take necessary steps so that electricity in the area will be restored. (KNS)
