J&K Congress questions silence of govt, BJP over Governor Malik's revelations regarding Jk bank selection process

Srinagar, April 23 (KNS): As the ongoing controversy over the quashing of the selection process for the Jk bank, POs and banking associates took a new turn with the sharing of an audio of former Governor of JK Shri SP Malik, J&K Pradesh Congress has said it vindicated the charge that the candidates have met with great Injustice for no fault of theirs, as incorrect and frivolous reasons have been cited for cancellation of the entire process.

A statement issued to KNS reads, Lashing out at the ruling BJP for its criminal silence over the serious issues regarding the career of the youth of J&k , especially in this matter involving career of thousands of youth, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson RavinderSharma sought justice for the deserving youth.

Reacting to the fresh controversy in the wake of revelations, claimed to have been made by the then Governor, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that this has added another dimension to the controversy, indicating great Injustice to the meritorious candidates who must have made the mark and qualified for the jobs.

He said that the Shri Malik is one of the most appropriate person to throw light on the issue, since the selection process for 1200 "banking associates and 250 POs was conducted during his Governorship, by a reputed national recruitment agency for banks, the IBPS.

The advertisement was made in October 2018,the preliminary exam was conducted in April, 2019 while mains exam was held in June 2019, during his tenure here. However, the process was quashed in February 2020, when the result was expected to be declared by around 1.40 Lac candidates, who are reportedly appeared in the tough selection process.

He said govt remained unmoved to the great hue and cry raised by the affected candidates as well as all other concerned quarters, terming the action of the govt as totally unjust and great Injustice to the youths. Different stories citing different reasons were floated to justify the action but the same remains totally unconvincing, as neither anyone has been booked nor any probe ordered, he said., in a statement issued to KNS.

Sharma said an audio attributed to Governor Malik, which is in public domain for two days, has added new dimension to the serious issue and the controversy has further deepened, as the reasons given by him to the caller, reflect great Injustice to the deserving candidates and that merit has been crushed .

The government has gone into hibernation after this audio, which calls for fresh explanations from the govt. Not only the candidates and their parents but every concerned citizen seeks answer and justice to the candidates.

He also lashed at the BJP for its criminal silence in the matter from day one but the party can't escape the blame of the youth for ignoring their rights . One after another decision by the BJP led rule at the Centre and UT administration goes against the interests of the the youth of J&k who were shown great dreams by the BJP.(KNS)
