Sopore, Jul 7 (KNS): The Government Degree College (GDC) Sopore on Tuesday organised its Annual College Road Race 2026 under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, with over 100 students participating in the event aimed at promoting fitness and drug-free living among youth.
In a statement the collage authorities said, the race, flagged off from the college main gate, saw boys cover a 7-km stretch via Model Town, Noorbagh Bypass and Ahad Sahib Chowk before returning through Court Road, while girls ran a 4-km route up to Ahad Sahib Chowk via Hospital Road.
Station house officer (SHO) Akash Kapoor attended the valedictory function as chief guest.

Results: Boys – Zahoor Ahmad Lone (1st), Haider Ali (2nd), Parvaiz Lateef (3rd); Girls – Zainab Nabi (1st), Rabiya Bilal (2nd), Kulsum Khazir (3rd). Winners received cash prizes, trophies and medals.
The event was coordinated by Physical Education Director Naseeba Jan Panjwal, with logistical support from civil administration, health department and J&K Police. Dr Sheeraz Ahmad Tantray prepared the event report the college statement further reads. (KNS)
