Kupwara November 04:(KNS) On the directions of District Administration, The Geology and Mining Department (G&MD) Kupwara, today on third consecutive day continued its efforts to implement the ban on illegal extraction of minor minerals from the district.

The District Mineral Officer (DMO), Kupwara, along with team of police and other concerned officers visited Nallah Mawer in Handwara sub division and disconnected all approach link roads leading to Nallah Mawer by digging deep trunchs to completely restrict the movement of JCBs, Tractors, Tippers and other means of transport.

The team also erected signboards at various sites indicating that ‘any kind of extraction is prohibited in this area, violation will be penalised’. (KNS)
