Srinagar, Jun 15 (KNS): Over 300 central government employees retiring from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the next one year will benefit from the 59th Pre-Retirement Counselling (PRC) Workshop to be inaugurated by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh here on 16 June.
The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) will organise the workshop along with the 13th Bankers’ Awareness Programme and an exhibition of pension disbursing banks at the SKICC, Srinagar, an official spokesperson said.
Dr Singh, who is the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and MoS in the PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, will inaugurate the programme aimed at enhancing "Ease of Living" for pensioners and family pensioners.
The workshop will cover sessions on retirement benefits, CGHS, cyber security, investment options, the BHAVISHYA portal, the Integrated Pensioners Portal, family pension, CPENGRAMS, ANUBHAV, and Digital Life Certificate.

The department will also hold a Bankers’ Awareness Programme in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Bank to sensitise pension disbursing banks about rules and procedures applicable to central government pensioners.
An exhibition on the sidelines will see participation from 12 banks, providing information on pension-related banking services, pension accounts and related financial products.
Officials said the event reflects the government's push for digitisation of pension processes and progressive pension policy reforms. (KNS)
