KUPWARA, JUNE 16 (KNS): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today distributed awards among the best performing schools under Swach Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) 2021-22 - District Level Award, at a function held at Boys Higher Secondary School Kupwara. 

Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara, Abdul Hameed Fani and other concerned were present on the occasion.

The award ceremony was organized by Education Department in collaboration with District Administration Kupwara and MIS Wing Chief Education Office under SAMAGRA SHIKSHA J&K.

Addressing at the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in and around educational institutions and asked the Heads of the Institutions to make Swachta as part of their school activities. He said the providing of award is step forward to encourage school administrations for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.

On the occasion, the CEO Kupwara informed that 2179 schools from Kupwara district were registered on the portal of Swach Vidyala, Ministry of Education. Out of which 999 schools were found eligible for the Swach Vidayala Puriskar, the verification of which was done by the District Level Screening Committee.

On the occasion, the DC distributed awards among Heads of Institutions of 25 schools for showing best performance in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and proper hygiene.(KNS)
