Jammu, Jul 19 (KNS) : Amidst continuing inclement weather conditions across the Union Territory, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will chair a high-level meeting on Sunday evening to comprehensively review the situation and assess the preparedness of all line departments, official sources said.
The meeting, scheduled to be held at 6 PM, will witness the participation of ministers and senior officials stationed in Srinagar through video conferencing, they added.
According to an official directive, the meeting will be attended by the Deputy Chief Minister, several Cabinet Ministers, the Chief Secretary, and Financial Commissioners of key departments including Jal Shakti, Power, Agriculture Production, and Public Works. The Principal Secretary (Home), Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, all Deputy Commissioners, IGP (Traffic), and the Commandant General of Home Guards, Civil Defence, and SDRF have also been directed to remain present.

In a significant move to ensure multi-agency coordination, officials from the NDRF, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Project SAMPARK, Project BEACON, and telecom service providers including BSNL, Jio, and Airtel have been asked to attend the crucial meeting.
Official sources told KNS that the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir have been requested to make detailed PowerPoint presentations on the stock of preparations, the prevailing situation so far, and the measures undertaken across the Union Territory.
The meeting assumes significance as the region continues to witness adverse weather conditions, with the administration focussing on strengthening coordination and swift response mechanisms to tackle any emerging challenges, officials added. (KNS)
