Pulwama, June 28 (KNS): Daughter of slain cop, who was killed after militants attacked him at his residence in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on late Sunday night, succumbed to her injuries in the wee hours on Monday, taking toll number of deaths to three in the attack.

Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that militants attacked the cop at his home in Hariparigam village of Awantipora, injuring him critically, while his daughter and wife also received bullet injuries in the attack.

They said that the cop identified as Fayaz Ahmad succumbed to his injuries and later his wife also succumbed at the hospital.  

“Cop’s daughter, who was injured in the attack has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment, where she succumbed in the wee hours today,” they said.

Kashmir Zone Police in a Tweet had said that militants barged into the house of SPO Fayaz Ahmad of Hariparigam and fired indiscriminately.

Police said that in this incident, Fayaz along with his wife and daughter received critical gunshot injuries.

“Fayaz Ahmad succumbed to his injuries. The area has bene m cordoned off and search was going on,” police said.

In another Tweet, police had said that Fayaz’s wife also succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. (KNS)
