Authorities modify lockdown guidelines in Karnah, asks people to strictly adhere upon

Karnah, July 14 (KNS): Authorities in north Kashmir’s Karnah town on Tuesday modified the guidelines meant for safeguarding the lives of people in wake of surge in caseloads and directed people to strictly adhere upon.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat, IAS, said that lockdown rules have been modified owing to the surge in the number of Covid-19 cases. He said by Monday late night, the total number of infected persons in the town were 18, however administration is on toe to bring it down while keeping strict vigil.
Giving details regarding steps taken for containment of Covid-19, he said, authorities have cancelled all marriage functions for which permissions were given earlier and added functions to be held onwards will be according to newly modified guidelines.
SDM Karnah said that people have been strictly directed to adhere upon guidelines and leave no stone unturned to safeguard the lives of community members.
He added any deviation of lockdown measures will be strictly dealt as per law and violators would not spared at any cost.
He requested people falling under containment zones to cooperate with administration and asked them away from any social gathering.
“Wearing masks onwards have been made mandatory and everyone has been asked to step out with mask in case of exigency”, SDM said.
When asked about movement of people in needy hours, he said “first people should avoid unnecessary travel across the Sadhna, however whenever medical exigency arise, administration will take the issue on priority”.
He appealed religious preachers to not only act strictly on guidelines but to impart it to masses at grass root level and cooperate wholeheartedly with the administration while enforcing lockdown to keep Covid-19 pandemic away. (KNS)
