Bandipora, July 21(KNS): The District Bar Association Bandipora on Tuesday conducted its annual elections in a peaceful, fair and transparent manner, recording an impressive voter turnout of 98.3 percent.

 

The election process was supervised by Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Mudasir Bhat and Election Commissioner Advocate Raja Firdous.

 

For the post of President, Advocate Masood Ahmad Bhat and Advocate Sofi Feroz contested the election, while Advocate Sameer Ahmad Khan was elected unopposed as General Secretary and Advocate Asif Iqbal Shah was elected unopposed as Vice President.

 

For the post of Joint Secretary, Advocate Mudasir Khanday and Advocate Tariq Ahmad Bhat were in the fray, while Advocate Nissar Shaban and Advocate Majid Mushtaq contested for the post of Treasurer. Advocate Ruhie Syed was elected unopposed as Lady Executive Member (5 Years), while Advocate Zeenat Yasir and Advocate Gulshan Ara contested for the post of Lady Executive Member (3 Years).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

 

Out of 59 eligible voters, 58 cast their votes, reflecting an overwhelming participation by members of the association.

 

According to the official results, Advocate Masood Ahmad Bhat was elected President after securing 29 votes, defeating Advocate Sofi Feroz. Advocate Mudasir Khanday was elected Joint Secretary with 36 votes, while Advocate Majid Mushtaq won the Treasurer's post by securing 35 votes. Advocate Zeenat Yasir was elected Lady Executive Member (3 Years) after polling 33 votes.

 

The Election Commission declared the polling process smooth, transparent and impartial. It congratulated all the successful candidates and appreciated the members of the District Bar Association Bandipora for their enthusiastic participation, cooperatileadingon and disciplined conduct, which ensured the successful completion of the election process.
