Madni condemns killing, questions forces 'high handedness'

Srinagar, Jun 18 (KNS): A youth was killed and another injured during clashes with army at Aakhran Nowpora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. PDP Vice President Sartaj Madni has accused forces of resorting to high handedness in responding to the situation arising in stone throwing incidents.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) DIG South Kashmir Range Amit Kumar said 'Youth pelted stones on army patroling at Aakhran Nowpora and army in self defence fired to disperse violent crowd. In an incident of firing during which two youth were injured and one of the injured succumbed to injuries later. The other injured youth has been shifted to Srinagar for specialized treatment'. However, he said investigation has been started to look into the causes of the killing of one of the injured youth during clashes.
Meanwhile PDP Vice President Sartaj Madni while talking to KNS condemned the killing of the youth and asked at how long forces will continue to show highandedness. He said innocent killings are unacceptable. (KNS)
