Srinagar, 08 Oct (KNS) : The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq today visited Badamwari Park and reviewed the ongoing work of raising the rear-side fencing of the park.
The fencing work, being undertaken at a cost of ?24.37 lakh, has been funded through the MLA’s CDF and other sources to strengthen the security of the park.
During his visit, Tanvir Sadiq met local residents and assured them that the work would be completed within this month. He reiterated that, once the work is completed and the park is secured from all sides, Badamwari will be opened for senior citizens, morning walkers and people medically advised to walk during the early morning hours, as has been the practice for decades.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the objective was to strike a balance between public access and safety, adding that the security concerns raised during meetings with the police and Parks & Gardens officials were being addressed through the fencing work.
“Badamwari belongs to the people of Downtown. Our effort is to ensure that it remains accessible to our elders, morning walkers and those who depend on it for their health, while also ensuring their safety,” Tanvir said.(KNS)
