Sultan Warriors Baramulla lift inaugural Chinar Premier League title

Srinagar, Sep 15 (KNS): Sultan Warriors Baramulla on Tuesday defeated Ramzii Sports Srinagar by 40 runs to win the inaugural Chinar Premier League (CPL) Cricket Tournament 2026 at the Gen Bipin Rawat Stadium in Baramulla.

Batting first in the grand finale, Sultan Warriors Baramulla posted 182 for nine. In reply, Ramzii Sports Srinagar were bowled out for 142, handing Sultan Warriors the coveted CPL trophy.

Aaqib Khanday of Sultan Warriors was adjudged Man of the Match, while teammate Asim Bashir was named Man of the Series.

The tournament, organised by the Chinar Corps, witnessed record participation, with 130 teams registering for the competition. Of these, 79 teams were selected from across the Kashmir Valley.

The successful conduct of the tournament established the CPL as a major cricketing platform in the region, providing young players from across the Valley an opportunity to showcase their talent and pursue their sporting ambitions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The closing ceremony was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, GOC Dagger Division and other distinguished guests from the local community.

The tournament also sought to strengthen the bond between the Indian Army and the local community, particularly the youth, through sports and community engagement.

The organisers said the CPL would encourage talented youngsters in the Valley to pursue their sporting dreams and provide them with a platform to compete at a wider level.

According to Kashmir News Service, the inaugural CPL concluded with Sultan Warriors Baramulla emerging as champions after an intense final against Ramzii Sports Srinagar.
