Seeks clarifications from govt on 'ignoring' horticulture, power sectors

Jammu, Jan 12 (KNS): National Conference MLA and former Minister Mohammad Shafi Uri here on Friday asked BJP to change stand on Article 370 to respect its alliance with PDP.
Taking part in the debate on the budget presented by finance minister Dr Haseeb Drabu yesterday, the NC MLA said that while PDP has dropped some of its stated positions on political issues concerning the political status of Jammu and Kashmir state, the BJP on its part should change its stand on Article 370 to allow its ally PDP to have some breathing space in Kashmir.
Touching upon the budget proposals presented by finance minister yesterday, Uri said that though some measures have been proposed for the promotion of horticulture industry but the agriculture a key sector of the state economy has been totally neglected as measures for implementation of latest technology to boost the agriculture have not been proposed in the budget.
Taking the government to task on what he called "worst ever power crisis during last 70 years", the NC MLA Uri said that government claims to have got hassle free funds from the central government and reduced the liabilities by 300 crores in the power sector but the deepening power crisis shows the failure of the government and now new measures have been proposed for improving the worsening power supply in the state.
