Jammu, September 23 (KNS):The Special Operations Group (SOG) Jammu has arrested three alleged members of the Khauf gang from Delhi, including a key accused wanted in 13 FIRs, officials said on Wednesday.

The arrested accused have been identified as Karanjit Singh alias “Gugga”, son of Arjun Singh, a resident of Dablehar in R S Pura, Naresh Kumar alias “Major”, son of Kamal Kumar, a resident of Arnia, and Rahul Kumar alias “Sundi”, son of Bishan Dass, a resident of Makhanpur in Bishnah.

According to officials, Karanjit Singh is wanted in 13 FIRs and is an accused in the Gataroo murder case and several other cases registered under charges related to attempt to murder, assault, rioting, criminal intimidation and possession of illegal weapons.

Police said Karanjit had earlier escaped from the R S Pura Observation Home along with two Pakistani inmates.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelDuring the incident, police personnel on duty were allegedly assaulted and injured in firing inside the observation home.

In connection with the incident, FIR No. 39/2026 was registered at R S Pura police station.

Naresh Kumar, another arrested accused, is stated to be a close associate of absconder Sunil Kumar alias “Gokul”. He is allegedly involved in cases related to violent assault, rioting and illegal possession of weapons, officials said.

Rahul Kumar is facing a case related to alleged smuggling of narcotics into jail premises and has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Prisons Act.

The arrests were made as part of ongoing efforts by Jammu Police and SOG to trace absconders and investigate the activities of organised criminal networks, officials said.(KNS)
