Party will increase presence on social media at district, constituency levels

Srinagar, Aug 09 (KNS): Emphasizing on the role of media in democracy in informing the public about political issues and reaching out to the party cadre, PDP Chief Spokesperson held a maiden meeting of newly appointed party additional spokespersons of Kashmir Province at Party headquarters in Srinagar today.
The meeting was attended by Additional Spokespersons of Kashmir province Yawar Dilawar Mir and Tahir Syed.
Stating that PDP President Mehbooba Mufti was keen to include young Party activists in the political process with observations and suggestive inputs, and rejuvenating party’s media aimed to provide them a platform to share their intellectual insights on the key political issues of the state using social media, said Mir.
He said that party will in near future increase presence on social media at district and constituency levels, and an orientation program for political workers for “social media Approach and Strategy” will be conducted by the party’s media cell.
The Additional Spokesperson Yawar Mir emphasized on the need to use social media for party affairs with certain guidelines. He said that in digital age it is imperative to that the youth become active participants of the democratic process and for that connecting digitally with them is the need of the hour. The panel also discussed the party’s Strategy for streamlining Urdu digital and print media and Additional Spokesperson Tahir Syed was accorded the responsibility of the same, the party handout read.
