No eligible voter to be left behind: CEO J&K announces special enrolment drive on Oct 10, 11

Jammu, Oct 7 (KNS): Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Jammu and Kashmir, Sanjeev Verma on Wednesday announced a two-day special voter enrolment and facilitation drive across the Union Territory on October 10 and 11.

The drive will be held at all polling stations from 9 am to 5 pm on both days, providing eligible citizens an opportunity to enrol as voters and update or correct their electoral details.

The announcement was made during a review meeting chaired by the CEO with District Election Officers (DEOs), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to finalise arrangements for the drive.

Verma directed the election machinery to ensure extensive public outreach and effective facilitation so that no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral rolls.

During the drive, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will remain available at polling stations to assist citizens with Forms 6, 7 and 8 for enrolment, deletion and correction or updation of electoral details.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAssistance will be provided for both physical submission of forms and digital submission through the Voter Helpline App.

The CEO also directed BLOs to undertake door-to-door outreach to identify and assist eligible citizens, particularly youth, first-time voters, women and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

He further directed DEOs and EROs/AEROs to undertake institutional and public awareness activities and share regular updates through official social media platforms, including details of polling stations, Assembly Constituencies and districts.

Verma urged all eligible citizens to visit their nearest polling station on October 10 or 11 and avail the enrolment and facilitation services.

The Election Department said weekend voter enrolment and facilitation drives would be organised regularly to make voter registration more accessible and ensure complete, accurate and inclusive electoral rolls. (KNS)
