Srinagar, Feb 11 (KNS): Incarcerated chairman of Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik Sunday said that struggle and sacrifices of father of Kashmiri nation martyr Muhammad Maqbool Butt are beacon light for every oppressed and occupied nation. He stands as symbol of steadfastness and valor for us and serves a corner stone for our resistance against illegal military occupation of India.
In a statement issued to KNS, on the 34th martyrdom day of great ideologue, JKLF chairman said that every aspect of his life stands as a mile stone for us and this nation can never forget his struggle and sacrifices.
JKLF chairman said that when Indian rulers hanged Maqbool Butt at Tihar Jail in 1984, they fancied about finishing Kashmiri resistance and thus disremembered about the reality of everlasting life of martyrs.
He said that the martyrdom of Maqbool Butt on gallows gave birth to thousands of young Maqbools who are till today striving for the righteous cause, sacrificing their lives in nooks and corners of Jammu Kashmir and writing down new chapters of passion, valor and greatness.
Yasin Malik said that a plant of resistance that has been nourished by such sacred blood can never get dry and today when we are recalling the struggle and sacrifices of our great leader we reiterate our pledge to take forward the mission of martyrs at every cost till the achievement of the sacred goal.
Meanwhile today on the occasion of the 34th martyrdom day of Father of Kashmiri Nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt various programs were held throughout world in which Kashmiris remembered him with commitment. Besides these programs, many protest programs were held in Indian held Kashmir to commemorate Maqbool Butt Shaheed.
A total and exemplary shutdown was observed throughout whole valley and also despite stringent curfew and restrictions on JRL call a grand rally was held at Lal Chowk Srinagar during which many JKLF leaders including Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Mushtaq Ajmal, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Muhammad Yasin Bhat, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Ali Muhammad Bhat, Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Bashrat Ahmad were arrested by police.
Various protest programs were also held at his birth place Trehgam Kupwara which were led by JKLF deputy chief organizer Siraj ud din Mir and leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt.
A candle light march was held in which thousands including women participated and demanded the mortal remains of their beloved leader. Police clamped a strict curfew in whole Trehgam but despite Curfew, people in large numbers thronged the residence of Maqbool Shaheed and participated in rally that was held today.
The rally was addressed by JKLF leaders Siraj ud din Mir, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, professor Javed, Syed Nisar Jeelani, Molvi Reyaz, Ghulam Qadir Khan and Tariq Ahmad. At various district headquarters Quran Khawani was held for the great leader.
Various programs were held throughout the world on the occasion.
At national Press club in Islamabad Pakistan besides JKLF leaders Muhammad Salim Harooon, Rafiq Ahmad Dar, Manzoor Ahmad, Khurshid Mir, M Salim Butt, Afzal Beigh, and Salim Abbasi, senior APHC leaders Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Syed Abdullah Geelani and Abdul Hamid Lone participated in a protest program held on Youm I Maqbool.
In Azad Kashmir also many programs were held. In Mirpur senior vice chairman Ab. Hameed Butt, Sajid Sidiqi, Khwaja Pervez and Saad Ansari led protests. In Kotli Raja Haqnawaz, Dr. Toqeer Geelani, Suhail Kataria and Raja Ashfaq led programs in this connection. In Muzzafarabad Basharatur Rehman Noori, Pervez Mirza, Bashir A. Lone and Ashiq Gilani participated in in a public rally held at Sangam Hotel. In Bagh Azad Kashmir Hafiz Anwar Samavi led a joint program with NAP.
In Rawalakot Adv. S M Ibrahim, Sardar Ibrahim and Sardar Qadeer Khan led various rallies. In Plundri Commander Farooq and M. Ramzan led protests on the occasion. In Poonch Qari Naseer and Chowdhry. Shakeel led rallies recalling Maqbool. In Bhimber Sajid Sidiqi and Adv.
Touseef Jarral led various grand rallies and paid rich tributes to the great leader. Besides these programs, information about other programs is pouring in too. JKLF leaders and activists are holding protests in Islamabad Pakistan, Lahore, Karachi and other cities of Pakistan while as programs will also be held across Europe, UK, USA, Canada, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and other parts of Middle East.
JKLF London Branch will hold a protest outside Indian High Commission in London. A petition will be handed over to the high commission asking for the return of mortal remains of Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Butt and shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru. Seminars, protests and symposiums will also be held to pay tribute to father of nation and other martyrs. (KNS)
