Alphonso was requested for intervention to regulate air fare from various destinations to JK

Srinagar, Sep 07 (KNS): Managing Director of JKTDC Asif Hamid Khan paid a courtesy call to K J Alphonso, Union Minister for Tourism, DG Tourism and Joint Secretary Tourism, Government of India on Friday.
Among other things, Union Minister for Tourism was requested for intervention to regulate air fare from various destinations to J&K State, especially during closure of Jammu-Srinagar Highway due to weather conditions.
The Minister recalled that the Jammu & Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry had approached him in this regard sometime back.
He appreciated the fact that preferences at far cheaper rates were available to a tourist within and outside the country as a result of sudden and abnormal fluctuation in air fares charged by private airliners. An invitation to visit J&K State on behalf of Khursheed Ahmad Ganaie, Advisor to Governor Incharge Tourism was extended to the Union Minister for Tourism. (KNS)
