Leh accident: Body of two family members retrieved, two others still missing

Leh, Jun 15 (KNS): The dead bodies of two persons were retrieved on Saturday while as the two others are still missing after the vehicle they were travelling in plunged into a river. The four members of a family were travelling to Gumta area on Friday when they met with an accident in Khalsi area of Ladakh and plunged into a river.

The two bodies were later retrieved from the river and two people are still missing, reports said, adding that an Alto car bearing registration number JK10A -1693 was on its way from Khalsi to Gumta, when the incident took place.

The four members of a family including a minor drowned in the Indus River in Khalsi.

Police said that two dead bodies were retrieved later and two people are still missing.

Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Leh Sonam Wangshuk told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that rescue operation is going on to trace the other two people as well. (KNS)
