Srinagar, Oct 3 (KNS); The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday ordered the transfer of 16 Inspectors to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) with immediate effect, officials said.
According to an official order issued by the Police Headquarters (PHQ) accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), the transfers were made "in the interest of administration" to strengthen the anti-graft body.
As per the order, eight Inspectors currently posted across various wings — including the CID, Crime Branch, and different police zones — have been moved to the ACB. Those transferred include Inspectors Showkat Ahmad, Hilal Ahmad Parray, Shabaz Bashir, Ibrar Ahmad Lone, Tahir Bashir Bhat, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, Rajinder Kumar, and Pankaj Singh.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The order also modified a previous transfer directive issued in June this year. It cancelled the transfers of eight other Inspectors — including Vikas Sharma, Liyaqat Ali, Firdous Ahmed, and Kiran Kumar — who were earlier assigned to the Armed Zone (AZ) or other units under Order No. 1798 of 2026 dated June 16.
"The transfer of the following Inspectors of the said order... from and to the places indicated against each, is hereby cancelled. They are further transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) with immediate effect," the order stated.
The personnel have been asked to be relieved forthwith, and their services will be placed at the disposal of the Director, ACB, for further duties. (KNS)
