Poonch, Jan 20 (KNS): National Conference here has called for immediate intervention of Government of India over rising border tension questioning silence mode of government over the killings in ceasefire violation.
Provincial President of Youth National Conference , Ajaz Jan castigated State Government for leaving people on the mercy of God and said that not even a single leader from coalition Government has bothered to visit shelling affected area at the time when people living in number of villages are facing threat of life Pakistani shelling.
He issued this statement after meeting with people of Poonch, near LoC and alleged that people have been left on the mercy of God amid heavy Pakistani shelling.
"Senior leaders from both the parties are least bothered about the miseries of the public and are busy on their own" he alleged.
He said that pathetic approach on the part of Government can be gauged from the fact that no shifting plan for border population is in sight in case tension escalates.
Jan asked Government of India and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to immediately intervene in the matter and also to direct her government leaders to move out of luxurious Government houses and to get first hand experience of affected people.
He demanded that free ration for atleast five months be issued to the affected people and compensation should also be issue in their favour as many families in the villages of Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua and Jammu near LoC and IB have suffered damage of houses and other valuable structures and need help from Government side to repair the same.
Meanwhile, Ajaz Jan Provincal president Youth Jammu NC has also expressed deep grief and anguish over the loss of innocent lives in border shelling.
He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families at this hour of grief and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
He also demanded that those injured in the shelling be provided free specialized medical treatment and prayed for their early recovery.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Ishaq Khan, Sayeed Khurishid shah, Queem sofi, Mashooq khan, Zahoor khan, Master shafi, Shokat Shah, Ch Shabir, Azad Chowan, Naseer Khan Rathor, Abdul Jabar Tantary, and Wazir Mohd Tantary. (KNS)
