Srinagar, Nov 16 (KNS): The education department is yet to release funds for buying uniforms to be distributed among students of the government schools despite the winter season having already begun.
Scores of students from different schools have complained that the department has delayed the distribution of uniforms even as winter has set in.
The department every year distributes new uniforms to the students as a policy and part of free education.
Director School Education Dr G N Itoo said that the role of the directorate is to collect requisition from all the concerned education zones which is then forwarded to Sarva Shiksha Abiyaan (SSA) wing for procurement
SSA Director Abdul Rashid War said that they will complete the process within 15 days and the schools will then start distributing uniforms. (KNS)
