Srinagar, Oct 5 (KNS): National Conference chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq on Monday said the government is looking for a way to resolve the issues of protesting vocational trainers, even as he flagged that a report on regularisation of daily wagers has not been completed even a year after the Assembly set a six-month deadline for it.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) MLA Zadibal said the vocational trainers may be meeting the concerned minister and that a solution is being explored.
Look, the vocational trainers came here too. They may be meeting health minister Sakina Itoo today. We are looking for a way. In this too, you understand that when this happened, in what environment it happened," he said.
On the larger issue of daily wagers awaiting regularisation, the NC leader said the Assembly had given six months to submit a report but it remains incomplete after a year.
As far as the rest of them are concerned, as you said, CM Omar Abdullah had previously said something about the assembly, where the assembly had given six months to submit the report. It's been a year today, and the report has not been completed even today, Sadiq said.
Now the chief secretary had to somehow bring the report and submit it to CM Omar, so that the regularisation can start in some way, he said.
Urging the chief secretary to act soon, Sadiq said, We hope, because the chief secretary is also the son of the soil, and I think keeping a lasting impact, if he can do something like this once in a lifetime for our daily wagers, then I think he should submit that report soon and give it back to his society, so that this process can start from this year.
On the interim issue of MBBS, MLA Sadiq said the Health Minister is looking into it personally and expressed confidence that it would be sorted out.
The vocational trainers were given time this month.

Turning to the government's broader performance, MLA Sadiq said the people gave the National Conference a mandate two years ago and asserted that the CM Omar Abdullah-led government has brought improvement in every sphere of life despite so many challenges and a dual government in the Union Territory.
Two years ago, people gave a mandate to the National Conference. Even after so many challenges, the way CM Omar Abdullah has brought some improvement in every area of life — improvement in power development, improvement in roads building, improvement in schools, he said.
He said an MLA now has Rs 3 crore at his disposal for his constituency, against Rs 2 crore during the previous government, and that this has now risen to Rs 4 crore, enabling work to percolate down to every small lane and road.
So overall, I would say that after so many challenges, the place where there is a dual government today, where there is still a hindrance to our work... And you must have seen in the assembly, how even today the bureaucracy is not stopping our elected government. But despite that, CM Omar and his cabinet have done a very good job. And we hope that in the next three years, whatever promises we have made, they will be fulfilled one by one, MLA Sadiq said.
Taking a swipe at the opposition, he said, It is the job of the opposition to do the opposition. We hoped that the opposition would do it in the assembly, raise people's questions, raise people's talks. But instead of that, they were once in favour of the salary and then against the salary. So it will be in the salary of BJP and its members.
I think an opposition is very important for a strong democracy, which I think has failed in BJP and all their A-team and B-team, Sadiq added. (KNS)
